Even the Rain

About this beer

A soft, expressive and intensely aromatic Hazy Pale Ale from Bristol's Left Handed Giant, showcasing three distinctive New Zealand hop varieties. Even the Rain brings together Nectaron, Superdelic and NZ Cascade in a carefully constructed 5.5% ABV pale ale that celebrates both modern hop breeding and the influence of New Zealand's unique growing conditions. A generous wheat and oat-rich grain bill provides a full, fluffy texture, creating a smooth foundation for the beer's vibrant hop character. Double dry-hopping introduces layers of flavour and aroma, with cool extraction and biotransformation helping to develop the hops' distinctive qualities. The resulting profile combines juicy red berries, sweet citrus and ripe tropical fruit, delivering an inviting balance of bright freshness and rounded fruit character. Nectaron and Superdelic represent the innovation of contemporary New Zealand hop development, while NZ Cascade highlights the influence of local terroir on a classic variety. Together, they create a complex yet approachable expression of modern hazy brewing. At 5.5% ABV, Even the Rain combines generous hop intensity with a soft, satisfying mouthfeel, making it an appealing choice for enthusiasts of fruit-forward pale ales. Vegan-friendly and presented in a 440ml can, this release showcases Left Handed Giant's approach to expressive, hop-led beers.
