One Less Than Sleep

About this beer

A vibrant and intensely aromatic Hazy IPA from Bristol's Left Handed Giant, brewed in collaboration with innovative brewing suppliers WHC Labs and Clayton Hops. One Less Than Sleep brings together Nelson Sauvin, Motueka and NZ Rhapzody to create an expressive New Zealand-inspired hop profile bursting with tropical fruit and citrus character. NZ Rhapzody, previously known as CIP-014, takes centre stage with its particularly vibrant tropical qualities, complemented by the distinctive aromatic contributions of Nelson Sauvin and Motueka. The beer showcases enticing flavours of ripe passionfruit, pink grapefruit and blackcurrant, delivering a layered combination of juicy sweetness, refreshing citrus and darker berry notes. Fermentation uses WHC Labs' Thiol Unleashed, a novel hybrid yeast strain developed to unlock bound thiol compounds and enhance the desirable fruit aromas produced during fermentation and dry-hopping. A malt bill incorporating barley, oats and wheat supports the soft, rounded mouthfeel associated with contemporary hazy IPAs. At 6.5% ABV, One Less Than Sleep offers a rich yet approachable drinking experience, celebrating the creative possibilities of modern hop products and innovative fermentation techniques. Vegan-friendly and generously aromatic, this collaborative release showcases Left Handed Giant's enthusiasm for experimentation and expressive hop-forward brewing.
