Steam

About this beer

A distinctive and richly flavoured Steam Beer from London's Small Beer Brew Co, combining the rounded malt character of an amber ale with the crisp refreshment of a traditional lager. Brewed using lager yeast fermented at warmer ale temperatures, Steam draws inspiration from the historic California Common style, creating a beer that bridges two classic brewing traditions. British rye contributes a satisfying malt richness, introducing inviting flavours of dried fruit and biscuit alongside a warm amber appearance. A carefully selected combination of Galena, Chinook and Mosaic hops provides balance and aromatic complexity, leading into a refreshingly crisp and dry finish. At just 2.7% ABV, Steam delivers the depth and character of a traditional amber beer at a considerably lower strength. Suitable for vegans, this distinctive small beer demonstrates the brewery's commitment to producing flavourful, thoughtfully crafted beers with reduced alcohol content.
