Old Laxey Brewing Company was a small brewery based at the Shore Hotel in the harbour village of Old Laxey. Brewing began in 1997 following the installation of a five-barrel brewery behind the hotel, making it the Isle of Man's only brewpub for many years.
The brewery became best known for Bosun Bitter, a traditional 3.8% session ale brewed primarily for sale at the Shore Hotel. Unlike larger island breweries with extensive ranges, Old Laxey focused on producing a single house beer that became closely associated with the pub and the village itself.
Situated beside Laxey Harbour and the River Laxey, the Shore Hotel became a popular destination for locals and visitors looking to enjoy a pint of Bosun Bitter in one of the island's most picturesque settings. Although brewing has since ceased, Old Laxey Brewing Company remains an important part of the Isle of Man's brewing heritage.
Old Laxey Brewing Company is located in Laxey, Isle of Man.
