Walled City Brewery opened in 2015 in Ebrington Square, a historic former military site overlooking the River Foyle in Derry/Londonderry. Bringing craft brewing into the heart of the city, the brewery established a distinctive combination of onsite beer production, hospitality and food, creating a destination where visitors could experience locally brewed beer at its source.
The brewery takes an adventurous approach to its beers, producing a range of styles that includes hop-forward IPAs, refreshing wheat beers and smooth, full-flavoured stouts. Brewing takes place onsite, with an emphasis on the ingredients, equipment and techniques that bring each beer from grain to glass. Its approach celebrates the creativity of modern craft brewing while maintaining a strong connection to its Northern Irish surroundings.
Food and hospitality are central to the Walled City experience. The brewery's onsite restaurant showcases local produce, with dishes designed to complement its beers, including the popular WCB Burger & Fries. Its location within Ebrington Square provides a distinctive setting for dining, tastings and events, bringing together visitors and local beer enthusiasts.
Visitors can also explore the brewing process through guided tours and tastings. These experiences take guests behind the scenes to discover the brewery's equipment, ingredients and history, followed by a tasting of six beers and a pint of their favourite. From its historic setting to its freshly brewed beers and locally inspired food, Walled City Brewery has become a distinctive part of Derry's modern food and drink scene.
