Pardon Padrón?

About this beer

An inventive and savoury India Pale Ale from Northern Ireland's Beer Hut Brewing, inspired by the brewery team's experiments with roasted Padrón peppers in their taproom pizza oven. Originally enjoyed with olive oil and rock salt, the peppers provided the inspiration for Pardon Padrón?, a distinctive 5.5% IPA that combines fresh hop character with gentle pepper warmth. Brewed with Padrón peppers, the beer develops an earthy, green and savoury character, introducing a subtle spiciness that gradually builds towards the finish. A dry-hop combination of Talus and Motueka brings a bright citrus contrast, contributing lively lime and lemon notes that complement the peppers' herbal qualities. Pouring a clear amber colour beneath a white head, the beer opens with an immediate earthy pepper aroma. On the palate, fresh lime zest and herbal spices lead into layered savoury pepper flavours, creating a distinctive interplay between citrus brightness and gentle warmth. A crisp, dry finish keeps the beer refreshing and balanced, allowing the unusual ingredients to work together without overwhelming the IPA's character. Particularly well suited to pairing with cured meats, cheese or pizza, Pardon Padrón? showcases Beer Hut's experimental approach to brewing and its enthusiasm for combining culinary inspiration with contemporary craft beer.
