Beer Hut Brewing Co is a microbrewery based close to the harbour in Kilkeel, County Down. Its beginnings were particularly small-scale, with brewing taking place inside a flat-pack hut using a 100-litre kit, giving the brewery both its name and the foundations for its identity.
As demand and production developed, Beer Hut outgrew its original setup and expanded twice. The brewery now operates a 1,000-litre plant at its Greencastle Street premises, representing a tenfold increase in brew length compared with the original system while retaining its roots as a small independent producer.
Beer Hut is also part of the Society of Independent Brewers and carries the SIBA Indie Beer designation. From a 100-litre kit in a simple hut to its current brewery near Kilkeel harbour, its development reflects a small-scale brewing operation that has grown steadily while remaining rooted in County Down.
