Haze Outdoors 7

About this beer

A rich and distinctive Yorkshire Stingo from Leeds-based Northern Monk, brewed in collaboration with eighth-generation Yorkshire maltsters Thomas Fawcett & Sons of Castleford. Haze Outdoors 7 is an 8% ABV interpretation of a historic regional beer style, traditionally associated with strong, malt-forward ales conditioned in oak. Celebrating Yorkshire's brewing and agricultural heritage, the beer is made entirely with Yorkshire-grown barley supplied by Thomas Fawcett & Sons, including the rare Halcyon variety, now grown on the maltster's own West Yorkshire farmland. A carefully selected blend of Crystal malts delivers soft caramel and bonfire toffee flavours, while amber malt introduces a drier, biscuit-like character that balances the beer's richness. Traditional British East Kent Goldings hops provide a classic hopping foundation, complementing the malt-led profile. Inspired by the historic practice of oak conditioning, Northern Monk uses brewer's sugar to increase the strength before conditioning the fermented beer on ex-whisky wood chips. This introduces additional notes of vanilla, dried fruit and oak, bringing depth and complexity to the finished ale. Available in 440ml cans, Haze Outdoors 7 is a celebration of traditional Yorkshire brewing, combining locally grown ingredients, heritage malting expertise and contemporary brewing techniques to revive a rarely encountered regional style.
