Liam Ashurst / Yorkshire Dales

About this beer

A juicy and expressive New Zealand IPA from Leeds-based Northern Monk, created in collaboration with illustrator and graphic designer Liam Ashurst as part of the brewery's Patrons Project. Liam Ashurst / Yorkshire Dales is a 6% ABV release celebrating the landscapes and natural beauty of northern Britain, bringing together contemporary hop flavours and artwork inspired by the outdoors. Brewed with Nectaron, Waimea and Pacific Sunrise hops, the beer delivers an inviting combination of tropical fruit, citrus and gentle pine. Nectaron and Waimea lead the flavour profile, producing generous notes of pineapple, ripe peach, grapefruit and mandarin, while Pacific Sunrise contributes a subtle pine character that helps balance the beer's juicy fruit intensity. Northern Monk describes the release as an ode to the first hint of warm sunshine on a cold, clear winter morning, capturing a sense of optimism and the changing seasons. The accompanying artwork reflects Liam Ashurst's distinctive visual style, shaped by his upbringing along the rugged coastline of North Wales and his later life in West Yorkshire. His clean, bold illustrations focus on recognisable natural scenes and landscapes, combining minimal compositions with a strong sense of character. Presented in 440ml cans, this Patrons Project release brings together Northern Monk's enthusiasm for expressive New Zealand hops with a celebration of northern landscapes and contemporary illustration.
