Hardware, Software and a Floppy Disk

About this beer

A vibrant and intensely aromatic IPA from Manchester's Pomona Island Brew Co, showcasing an expressive combination of Cryo Citra, Cryo Simcoe, Peacharine and Nectaron hops. Hardware, Software and a Floppy Disk is a 6.5% ABV release built around the distinctive qualities of these four hop varieties, delivering a layered combination of fresh pine, bright citrus and juicy tropical fruit. The brewery describes inviting aromas of spruce needles and freshly cut pineapple, creating a lively introduction to the beer's hop-forward character. On the palate, pronounced lemon zest provides a refreshing citrus bite, followed by generous flavours of sweet pineapple juice. Cryo Citra and Cryo Simcoe form part of the hopping combination, using concentrated hop products alongside Peacharine and Nectaron to develop the beer's aromatic profile. The result is an expressive modern IPA that brings together resinous freshness, zesty citrus and ripe tropical fruit flavours. Brewed with barley, oats and wheat, the beer combines a substantial grain foundation with its carefully selected hop varieties. Presented in a 440ml can, Hardware, Software and a Floppy Disk reflects Pomona Island's playful approach to naming beers and its enthusiasm for bold, contemporary hop combinations.
