Rhapsody

About this beer

A crisp and refreshing Czech-style Pilsner from Southey Brewing Co in Penge, South East London, celebrating the balance between expressive malt character and traditional hop bitterness. Rhapsody is a 5% ABV lager that draws inspiration from the classic brewing traditions of the Czech Republic, combining a satisfying malt foundation with floral, herbal and gently spicy hop flavours. The beer opens with inviting notes of fresh bread and light biscuit, reflecting the soft, grain-led character of its malt profile. On the palate, these rounded flavours are balanced by pronounced bitterness, providing the distinctive structure and refreshing quality associated with Czech-style pilsners. Delicate floral aromas and subtle herbal and spicy hop notes add complexity without overwhelming the beer's clean, straightforward character. The finish is crisp and dry, with a pleasant lingering bitterness that encourages another sip. Rhapsody offers a carefully balanced drinking experience, combining the comforting qualities of freshly baked bread and biscuit with the refreshing bite of traditional lager hops. Presented in a 440ml can, this approachable yet characterful pilsner is an appealing choice for enthusiasts of classic European lager styles and well-balanced, malt-and-hop-led beers.
