Chiltern Brewery

Chiltern Brewery was founded in 1980 by Richard and Lesley Jenkinson and has brewed in Terrick for more than four decades. Located on an old working farm in the Chiltern Hills, it describes itself as the oldest independent brewery in the Chiltern Hills and Buckinghamshire.

From the beginning, the brewery has focused on producing natural, wholesome beer using traditional brewing methods and British ingredients. It uses English malt and hops and has maintained a strong emphasis on the provenance of the ingredients that go into its beers.

The family business is now led by the founders' sons, George and Tom Jenkinson. Continued demand led to an expansion of the brewery, with the first phase of its latest expansion completed in 2022 to increase production capacity.

Alongside its brewery, Chiltern operates a brewery shop selling bottled, canned and draught beer as well as locally produced wines, ciders, food and other products. Brewery tours give visitors an opportunity to learn more about its brewing process and history.

Chiltern's brewery tap is The King's Head in the old town of Aylesbury. The Grade II* listed medieval coaching inn serves a range of Chiltern beers alongside food and provides a historic showcase for the brewery away from its production site in Terrick.
