Stinky Bay Brewing Co.

Stinky Bay Brewing Co was founded in 2017 after a life-changing trip through British Columbia, where founder Matt and his friend Digby discovered a thriving culture of small-town microbreweries and world-class craft beer. Inspired by the creativity and quality they encountered, the pair began wondering why Jersey lacked a similar independent beer scene. What started as a far-fetched idea sketched on the back of a napkin over a few excellent beers soon became a dream worth pursuing.

When seasonal work brought them both back to Jersey, the conversation resurfaced and the brewery was born. Named after one of Jersey's rugged north-western bays, Stinky Bay Brewing Co began as a passion project driven by curiosity, experimentation and a desire to brew great beer for the local community. From those early days, the brewery steadily evolved from a simple idea into a respected independent producer with a growing reputation for quality and character.

Today, Matt continues to lead the brewery with support from family and friends, embracing both the challenges and rewards of independent brewing. Along the way there have been successes, setbacks, ruined batches and moments of brewing inspiration, but the mission remains unchanged: to create great beer, share it with others, and keep exploring what Stinky Bay Brewing Co can become next.
