Tempest Brewing Co

Tempest Brewing Co. traces its origins to a chance meeting between founders Gavin and Annika while working at a brewpub in Canada. After travelling together, they settled in Annika's native New Zealand, where Gavin began home-brewing in their Christchurch garage using locally sourced ingredients and pioneering New Zealand hop varieties long before they became internationally renowned.

Plans to establish a brewery in New Zealand eventually gave way to a move across the world, and in early 2010 Tempest Brewing Co. was founded in a converted dairy building in Kelso, Scottish Borders. Starting with a modest ten-barrel brewhouse, the brewery quickly gained a reputation for producing bold, modern beers that blended New World hop character with traditional brewing techniques.

As Tempest continued to grow, the brewery relocated to a larger purpose-built home in Tweedbank, allowing production to expand while remaining firmly rooted in the Scottish Borders. Alongside its award-winning beers, the brewery now operates a destination taproom hosting events, brewery tours and fresh beer straight from the source, welcoming visitors from across Scotland and beyond.
