A complex, barrel-aged Wild Ale from Balance Brewing, originally brewed as a traditional Vienna Lager in collaboration with Closet Brewing. Over three years of maturation in oak barrels with Balance's house culture, the beer has developed a distinctive wild fermentation character while retaining its original bready, biscuit-like malt foundation. Subtle funk and fruity Brettanomyces notes intertwine with light caramel, floral and spicy hop character, while restrained acidity and refreshing bitterness provide balance. Integrated oak adds depth and structure, complementing the toasted malt flavours without overwhelming their delicate character. At 5% ABV, Vienna? finishes with woody tannins and a crisp, clean dryness, offering a fascinating transformation of a classic lager through extended mixed-culture fermentation.
