A rich and robust bourbon barrel-aged barleywine from Black Iris Brewery in Nottingham, brewed in collaboration with Burton Bridge Brewery to celebrate Black Iris's birthday. Originally brewed in 2025, this 11% barleywine spent nine months maturing in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels before its release. A traditional malt bill of Maris Otter, Crystal and Chocolate malts creates a deep brown colour and layers of caramel sweetness, while classic English hops Challenger, Northdown and East Kent Goldings contribute marmalade notes and floral bitterness. Extended barrel ageing introduces complex flavours of leather, oak and vanilla, complementing the beer's rich malt character. A bold, warming and carefully matured celebration of traditional British barleywine brewing.
