A refreshing and community-inspired Green Hop Pale Ale from Wales' Bluestone Brewing Co., created using freshly harvested hops hand-picked by local volunteers. Neck of the Woods celebrates the brewery's connection to its surrounding community and the seasonal tradition of brewing with hops straight from the vine. During the 2025 harvest, a dedicated group of volunteers gathered at the brewery for a morning of hop picking, fuelled by coffee, cake and good company. Their efforts produced an impressive 30 kilograms of fresh hops, providing the foundation for this distinctive seasonal pale ale. Unlike dried or processed hops, freshly picked green hops are used shortly after harvesting, allowing brewers to capture their fresh, natural character. This approach celebrates the qualities of the annual hop harvest while creating a beer with a strong connection to its ingredients and the people who gathered them. At 3.9% ABV, Neck of the Woods offers an approachable, easy-drinking pale ale that reflects Bluestone's enthusiasm for local collaboration and traditional brewing practices. More than simply a seasonal release, this community green hop beer is a celebration of shared effort, local ingredients and the enjoyment of creating something together.
