Bluestone Brewing Company is an award-winning craft brewery based on Tyriet Farm in Pembrokeshire, brewing a wide range of beers while leading the way in environmentally sustainable brewing.
Brewery story
Bluestone Brewing Company is based at Tyriet Farm near Newport in Pembrokeshire, where the brewery occupies converted farm buildings that once housed the farm's dairy and stables. The brewery takes its name from the famous Pembrokeshire bluestone, the same stone believed to have been transported over 250 miles to form part of Stonehenge.
Sustainability has been at the heart of Bluestone since the beginning. Water is drawn from the farm's own well, electricity is generated using solar power, and spent grain and other brewing by-products are reused on the working family farm or fed back to livestock. In 2018, Bluestone became the first brewery in the world to receive the Green Key Accreditation for environmental sustainability, before being named Sustainable Business of the Year at the 2023 SIBA Business Awards.
All brewing, packaging and production take place on-site, with dedicated bottling and canning facilities helping reduce the brewery's carbon footprint while creating local employment. Alongside its brewery, Bluestone has expanded into hospitality with its GRAIN restaurants and SANTOS tapas bar, pairing its beers with locally inspired food while continuing to produce a broad range of consistent, approachable craft beers.
