Ludlow Brewing Co

Ludlow Brewing Company was founded by Gary and Alison Walters in 2006 with the aim of reviving the brewing tradition of their Shropshire market town. Beginning in Gary's garage before moving into a former maltings on Corve Street, the brewery quickly grew beyond its first premises, led by beers including its flagship Ludlow Gold.

In 2008 the couple began transforming a derelict Victorian railway shed, built in 1857 beside Ludlow Station, into the brewery's permanent home. Following a two-year restoration, a 20-barrel brewing system was installed and The Railway Shed opened to visitors in 2011. The site has since expanded with additional storage while retaining the historic character of the original building.

Traditional cask ale remains at the heart of Ludlow Brewery, with locally grown hops featuring prominently across its core range. Alongside these beers, the smaller Derailed pilot brewery was introduced to explore more experimental styles and predominantly keg releases, giving the brewing team room to combine its established approach with more modern ideas.

Today The Railway Shed brings brewing and hospitality together under one roof, with an onsite taproom, visitor centre and events space open throughout the week. Visitors can drink beer beside the working brewery or join regular guided tours and tastings, while live music, street food and community events have made the restored railway building a destination in its own right.
