Monty's Brewery

Monty's Brewery was founded in 2009 in Montgomery, Powys, by husband-and-wife team Russ and Pam Honeyman with the aim of producing high-quality Welsh beer that everyone could enjoy. From the beginning, the brewery focused on combining traditional brewing techniques with modern innovation, quickly building a reputation for approachable, award-winning beers.

Over the years, Monty's has developed a diverse range that includes classic bitters, pale ales, IPAs, stouts and seasonal specials. The brewery has become particularly well known for producing gluten-free beers without compromising on flavour, making its core range accessible to a wider audience while maintaining the quality expected by craft beer enthusiasts.

Sustainability is a key part of the brewery's ethos. Monty's continually works to reduce water and energy consumption, eliminate unnecessary plastic packaging and reuse or recycle brewing materials wherever possible. Spent grain is supplied to local dairy farms, surplus beer is repurposed into products such as gin and chutneys, and waste heat is recovered for future brewing and cleaning processes.

In 2024, Monty's Brewery received investment from Ubunto Business Holdings to support the next stage of its growth. The investment is helping expand the brewery's facilities while allowing the team to continue producing award-winning Welsh beer and investing in its long-term future.
