Independent microbrewery based at Narrowboat Farm in Linlithgow, producing small-batch beers with Scottish malt and locally grown, farmed and foraged ingredients.
Brewery story
Strangers Brewing Co. was founded by longtime homebrewer Brett and began brewing at Narrowboat Farm in Linlithgow in 2021. The brewery occupies a former vegetable shed on the eco-friendly market garden farm.
Local provenance is central to its beers, with Scottish-grown base malts and seasonal ingredients sourced from the farm and surrounding countryside, including raspberries, elderflower, sloes and coriander.
Sustainability is built into the brewery's approach, from returning brewing by-products to the farm to using recyclable packaging. Strangers also pledges 10% of its profits to local causes.
The name comes from Linlithgow's historic motto and its call to be 'kinde to strangers', reflecting the brewery's aim to bring people together through beer and its involvement in the local community.
