Twisted Ankle Brewing Company is a small-batch microbrewery based at an old mill site in the Howe of Cromar, Aberdeenshire. Its ales are produced on a small scale using recipes developed in-house, with beer available locally including at producer markets.
Brewery story
Twisted Ankle grew from owner and brewer Roger's interest in small-scale craft brewing, inspired by memorable beers he encountered while working in the United States.
He began developing his own recipes and all-grain brewing in 2014 before moving to Coull in the Howe of Cromar in early 2017, where Twisted Ankle Brewing Company was subsequently established.
The brewery operates on a small scale, with Roger handling everything from recipe development and brewing to bottling, labelling and selling.
The brewery's millstone logo reflects its home on the site of an old horse mill, where grain was once milled for flour and is now used to produce beer.
