Post Mortem: Bramble

A complex, barrel-aged Wild Ale from Edinburgh's Barney's Beer, inspired by traditional Belgian oude geuze and lambic brewing. Part of the experimental Post Mortem series, Bramble begins with a turbid wort made from barley and unmalted wheat before spending three years ageing in former Pinot Noir wine barrels. A further six months of maturation on Scottish blackberries introduces a distinctive fruit character to its refreshing, funky profile. Bottled in June 2025 as a bottle-conditioned release, this 5.5% ABV wild ale is designed to continue developing with age.
