A powerful and richly layered whisky cask-aged Imperial Porter from Harviestoun Brewery, created in collaboration with Scotland's renowned Highland Park Distillery. Ola Dubh, meaning 'Black Oil', is based on Harviestoun's award-winning Old Engine Oil and draws inspiration from the substantial Imperial Porters and Stouts of the nineteenth century. This 16 Year Old edition forms part of a distinctive range of dark beers matured in Highland Park single malt whisky casks, bringing together traditional brewing techniques and the character of Scotch whisky maturation. The beer's robust dark malt foundation provides a rich and substantial base for the influence of whisky-seasoned oak, creating a complex interpretation of a classic strong porter. At 8% ABV, Ola Dubh 16 Year Old offers a full-bodied drinking experience that celebrates the relationship between Scottish brewing and whisky production. The Ola Dubh range is particularly notable for its use of casks from a specifically named distillery, with traceable barrels and individually numbered bottles providing a distinctive sense of provenance. Produced by Harviestoun Brewery, established in 1983, this characterful release showcases the brewery's pioneering approach to barrel-aged beer.
