A luxurious and complex whisky cask-aged Imperial Porter from Scotland's Harviestoun Brewery, created by maturing its celebrated Old Engine Oil in oak casks previously used for Highland Park 21-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Part of the brewery's distinctive Ola Dubh range, whose name translates as 'Black Oil', this special edition combines the rich character of a traditional strong dark ale with the depth developed through whisky cask maturation. The beer spends at least six months ageing in the selected Highland Park barrels, allowing the whisky-seasoned oak to impart additional flavour and complexity. Pouring a deep, dark colour, Ola Dubh 21 Year Old delivers a substantial roasted malt character complemented by distinctive whisky notes. Rich chocolate flavours and roasted malt bitterness develop across the palate, creating a layered drinking experience that finishes with a satisfying bittersweet aftertaste. At 8% ABV, this full-bodied beer offers an expressive combination of traditional Scottish brewing and whisky maturation. Produced by Harviestoun Brewery, established in 1983, Ola Dubh 21 Year Old reflects the brewery's innovative approach to barrel ageing and its commitment to producing distinctive, characterful dark beers.
