Small independent Glasgow brewery established in 2020, producing unfined, unfiltered and naturally conditioned beers with an emphasis on local and sometimes foraged ingredients.
Brewery story
Dookit Brewing was established in Glasgow in 2020, initially brewing at Ride Brewing before moving into its own premises in 2022.
The brewery takes its name from the Scots word 'dookit', meaning a dovecote or small enclosed space, reflecting both its Glasgow identity and small-scale approach to brewing.
Dookit focuses on low-intervention beers with a strong sense of place, using locally sourced and sometimes foraged ingredients. Its malt comes from Alloa, while many of its hops are sourced from a family-owned carbon-neutral farm in Kent.
Its beers are unfined, unfiltered and conditioned in pack, with most suitable for vegans. The brewery produces both a Core Range in cans and its Seasons Change series in distinctive stubby bottles.
Art is also central to Dookit's identity, with each beer featuring commissioned work from a local artist, illustrator or designer.
