Brewery story
The brewery was established in Glasgow in 2017 as Merchant City Brewing, initially producing beer on a 12-barrel brewing system.
In 2020 the brewery moved to new premises and rebranded as Glasgow Beer Works, reflecting a stronger connection with the city it calls home.
Glasgow's culture, art and diversity influence the brewery's identity, with a focus on remaining independent, working locally and supporting its community.
Alongside its core beers, Glasgow Beer Works produces small pilot batches and barrel-aged releases, distributing its beer across Glasgow and central Scotland.
