Enville Brewery is an independent brewery in the South Staffordshire countryside, brewing from a Grade II-listed Victorian farm complex in the village of Enville. Established in 1993, it uses natural well water and traditional brewing methods to produce a range of cask ales. Its best-known beer, Enville Ale, is a traditional honey-infused beekeeper's ale based on a recipe dating back to the 19th century.
Brewery story
Enville Brewery was established in 1993 in the village of Enville, among the rolling countryside of South Staffordshire. Its home is an unusual Grade II-listed Victorian farm complex, where former stables and farm buildings were adapted to house the brewery.
The brewery combines traditional brewing methods with ingredients drawn from its surroundings. Its beers are made using natural water from the brewery's own well, while the site also incorporates a reed and willow effluent treatment system.
Enville Ale was the beer that began the brewery's story and remains one of its best-known beers. The recipe has roots stretching back to the 19th century and is based on a traditional beekeeper's ale, with honey used as part of the beer.
Alongside Enville Ale, the brewery produces a broader range of ales designed to cover different tastes. Its beer is distributed primarily in cask, with a strong presence in the local free trade across the Midlands.
More than three decades after brewing began, Enville continues to produce its beers from the same rural Staffordshire setting, combining its historic surroundings, natural well water and traditional approach to brewing.
