Independent microbrewery, taproom and social hall in rural Fife, brewing on a five-barrel system with a focus on community, sustainability and locally rooted beer.
Brewery story
Howe Beer Project grew from Kevin and his family's idea of creating a modern gathering place built around beer, community and bringing people together in rural Fife.
The brewery and social hall were created in a former indoor play centre and agricultural building at Balmalcolm Den. Existing materials were repurposed and secondhand brewing equipment used wherever possible to keep the project simple and sustainable.
Kevin brought professional brewing experience and inspiration from time spent in Colorado, where the creative brewery and taproom culture helped shape the idea for Howe Beer Project.
Sitting within one of the UK's major barley-growing regions, the brewery aims to strengthen its local connections further by exploring shorter supply chains that could bring Fife-grown barley directly into its beers.
Today the brewery operates alongside a family-friendly taproom and social hall, creating a community space for fresh beer, food, music, quizzes and other events.
