Mad Squirrel is an independent Hertfordshire brewery based at the foot of the Chiltern Hills. Its range combines traditional brewing with a contemporary approach, spanning pale ales, lager and stout alongside regularly changing limited releases.
Brewery story
Mad Squirrel's story began as Red Squirrel in 2005, growing from a small brewing operation into a contemporary brewery with taprooms across Hertfordshire and the surrounding area.
In 2017 the brewery rebranded as Mad Squirrel, moved into a larger brewery and significantly expanded its brewing equipment. The move was accompanied by the release of its first canned beers.
The brewery focuses on continual experimentation and evolution, combining traditional brewing techniques with new approaches across a year-round core range and changing limited releases.
Mad Squirrel has continued to expand its brewery and distribution while developing a network of bars and taprooms, including its brewery taproom at Potten End.
