Round Corner Brewing

Round Corner Brewing grew from a friendship formed on the other side of the world. Colin brought decades of international brewing experience, having worked in brewhouses and hop fields from Asia and Japan to New Zealand and America, while Combie brought an entrepreneurial background and fascination with the business of beer. Their conversations eventually developed into a plan for a brewery of their own.

They chose Melton Mowbray as its home, attracted by the town's reputation for food, farming and craftsmanship. In 2018 they established a state-of-the-art brewery in an old sheep shed within the historic livestock market, putting beer production alongside the agricultural traditions that continue to shape the town.

Even the Round Corner name connects brewing with Melton. It refers both to the balance of a well-made beer — smooth and without rough edges — and to the rounded shape of a wedge of Stilton. The brewery applies that idea across lagers, ales and modern craft styles, with an emphasis on drinkability, consistency and quality rather than following any single brewing fashion.

The brewery's taproom brings that philosophy directly to drinkers, pouring beer metres from where it is made alongside special events and visiting food vendors. Community is central to the business, and Round Corner describes its mission simply as putting great beer into more people's hands while creating a brewery that its drinkers feel part of.
