Wylam Brewery

Wylam Brewery was founded in 2000 by John Boyle and Robin Leighton, beginning on a small scale in a potting shed in the village of Wylam, Northumberland. From those early days developing malt bills and recipes, the brewery steadily grew, with its beers finding their way into pubs and bottle shops across the UK and further afield.

Today, Wylam operates a 30-barrel brewery from the Palace of Arts in Exhibition Park, Newcastle upon Tyne. Built for the 1929 North East Exhibition to celebrate craft, art and industry, the Palace of Arts is the last surviving building from the exhibition. After spending almost a decade largely derelict, the historic building was brought back to life as Wylam's working brewery.

Alongside brewing, the Palace of Arts has become a destination in its own right. The building houses Wylam's Brewery Tap and Terrace, while its Grand Hall hosts live music, weddings, pop-up events and other gatherings. The brewery tap serves Wylam beers on keg and cask, including exclusive brews and blends, alongside guest beers from friends across the brewing community.
