Brewery story
Donzoko Brewing Company was founded by Reece Hugill in 2017, developing an approach to brewing heavily influenced by the beer traditions of Germany.
The brewery combines those traditional influences with techniques associated with modern UK and US craft brewing. This has shaped a distinctive range of beers centred around Donzoko's interpretation of European brewing traditions.
In 2024, Donzoko moved to new premises in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne. The new site gave the brewery its own production space alongside a taproom, allowing drinkers to enjoy its beers directly at the brewery.
Donzoko does not produce real ale, instead focusing on beers influenced by continental European brewing and contemporary craft beer techniques.
