Brewery story
About 40ft Brewery
40FT Brewery was founded in 2015, beginning life in a Dalston car park with a brewery built from just two 20-foot shipping containers. From those unconventional beginnings, the independent London brewery grew one shipping container at a time, developing a reputation for fresh, modern beer and creating a distinctive home within the local community.
Sustainability has been part of 40FT's approach from the outset, from repurposing shipping containers for its original brewery to making conscious choices around how its beer is produced and distributed. That commitment has since seen 40FT become a Certified B Corporation, recognising its wider approach to environmental and social responsibility.
Today, 40FT produces its beer on the Blackhorse Beer Mile in Walthamstow, while maintaining strong roots in Dalston through its original taproom on Abbot Street. Its beers are poured at more than 150 venues, alongside a core range, limited releases, collaborations and experimental beers developed on its small 40-inch pilot brewing kit.
