Brewery story

About Belleville Brewing Co.

Founded in 2013 by Adrian Thomas and a group of fellow parents from Belleville Primary School in Wandsworth, Belleville Brewing Co. grew from a local fundraising initiative into one of South West London's best-known independent breweries. The brewery takes its name from the school where the founders first met, reflecting the community spirit that remains central to the business today.

While firmly rooted in South London, Belleville's brewing philosophy draws strong inspiration from the American craft beer revolution. Founder Adrian Thomas spent many years working in Los Angeles, New York, and Boston, where he developed an appreciation for the bold, hop-forward beers that helped define the modern craft brewing movement. Influenced by pioneering breweries and classic beers such as Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Anchor Steam, and Brooklyn Lager, Belleville set out to bring those vibrant flavours to a British audience.

Operating under the motto 'Beers from over there, brewed over here', the brewery combines American-inspired creativity with British brewing expertise. Over the years, Belleville has grown from a neighbourhood passion project into an established brewery whose beers are enjoyed across London and the South East, while maintaining the independent and community-focused ethos on which it was founded.
