Independent, family-run West Sussex brewery established in 1992, bringing brewing back to Arundel after a 70-year absence. Producing traditional ales and contemporary craft beers at its Lyminster Road brewery, Arundel also operates the onsite Arundel Taphouse, offering fresh beer, coffee, rotating street food vendors and private events.
Brewery story
Arundel Brewery was established in 1992, bringing commercial brewing back to the historic West Sussex town for the first time in around 70 years. Proudly independent and family-run, the brewery has built its reputation around producing flavourful, high-quality beers while maintaining strong connections with the local community. From its beginnings as a traditional regional brewery, Arundel has developed a diverse range of beers that reflects both its heritage and the changing tastes of British beer drinkers.
Over the years, Arundel Brewery has embraced the growth of modern craft beer while continuing to celebrate traditional brewing styles. Its range includes established favourites alongside more contemporary and experimental releases, appealing to drinkers seeking everything from familiar ales to hop-forward craft beers. The brewery has received industry recognition for its beers and takes particular pride in customer feedback. Supporting local suppliers and independent businesses remains an important part of its approach, with all its beers brewed at its Arundel headquarters.
A significant development came with the brewery's move to its Lyminster Road site, bringing production together with a welcoming hospitality venue. Arundel Taphouse, developed in partnership with Gubbeans, combines a brewery bar and coffee shop where visitors can enjoy beers close to where they are produced. The venue regularly welcomes independent street food traders, serving everything from burgers and Mexican tacos to Greek souvlaki and seafood. Its flexible space also hosts weddings, private celebrations and community events.
Today, Arundel Brewery remains a proudly independent part of West Sussex's brewing scene, combining more than three decades of experience with an enthusiasm for contemporary beer culture. Its Taphouse provides a direct connection between the brewery and its customers, offering a relaxed place to discover the beers while enjoying food from local businesses. With its commitment to quality, local partnerships and memorable hospitality, Arundel continues the brewing tradition it helped revive in 1992.
