Hepworth Brewery

Hepworth Brewery was founded by Andy Hepworth in 2000 and began brewing in Horsham before establishing itself as a Sussex producer of premium beer. From the outset, the brewery has combined traditional brewing with a focus on high-quality local ingredients, including Sussex-grown hops and organic barley from Goodwood.

In 2016 Hepworth moved into a new purpose-built brewery at North Heath. The site allowed the business to introduce more energy-efficient production and advanced recycling techniques as part of its drive to reduce its environmental impact. The brewery produces some of its own energy, works to conserve water and recycle waste, while its organic status is certified by the Soil Association.

Hepworth has developed a broad range that includes organic, vegan-friendly and gluten-free beers. Careful selection of low-protein barley, brewing methods and fine filtration are used to reduce gluten without relying on additives. The brewery also provides contract brewing and is home to production for other beer brands, including Ridgeway and Goodwood Breweries.

Today the North Heath brewery combines production with a shop and taproom, giving visitors a place to drink and buy Hepworth beer directly from the source. Brewery tours provide a closer look at the operation, while the business remains independent and continues to balance traditional brewing with its long-term focus on more sustainable production.
