Goodh Brewing Co. is an independent Cornish brewery producing modern, hop-forward craft beer alongside traditional cask ales through its ownership of the iconic Skinner's Brewery. Known for approachable, flavour-packed beers across a wide range of styles, Goodh combines contemporary brewing with Cornwall's rich brewing heritage.
Brewery story
Goodh Brewing Co. began life in 2018 as a small brewery in Ponsanooth, Cornwall, experimenting with wild fermentation and locally foraged ingredients. As the brewery evolved, its focus shifted towards modern, hop-forward beers inspired by the UK's thriving craft beer scene, leading to the adoption of the name Goodh Brewing Co. – pronounced 'Goooth', the Cornish word for 'wild'.
The brewery later moved into a purpose-built production facility at Indian Queens, significantly increasing capacity with a modern canning and kegging line while expanding its range to include hazy pale ales, New England IPAs, stouts, sours, lagers and seasonal releases. In 2020, Goodh opened its first taproom in Truro, creating a welcoming space for the local craft beer community.
A major milestone came in 2023 with the acquisition of the historic Skinner's Brewery, one of Cornwall's best-known breweries since 1997. The move preserved much-loved cask beers such as Betty Stogs while bringing Skinner's and Goodh together under one roof. The former Skinner's site was transformed into The Tapyard Riverside in Truro, where visitors can enjoy both modern Goodh craft beers and classic Skinner's ales.
Today, Goodh Brewing produces an extensive range of canned and keg beers that are stocked across Cornwall and beyond, while continuing to honour the region's brewing traditions. Sustainability also remains central to the brewery's ethos, with spent grain and hops reused as animal feed and compost, reflecting its commitment to giving back to the Cornish landscape that inspires every beer.
