Hop Fuzz is an independent brewery in West Hythe, Kent, established in 2011. Starting on a tiny 100-litre system, it now brews on a bespoke 900-litre plant, producing cask, keg and bottled beers with a focus on quality, consistency and reducing its environmental impact.
Brewery story
Hop Fuzz was established in West Hythe in 2011 after head brewer Daryl learned the brewing trade in the Blue Mountains of Australia. Early beers were developed on a small home-brew system before the brewery began commercially on a 100-litre setup.
The brewery has since expanded to a bespoke 900-litre system capable of brewing twice a day, supported by four 2,000-litre fermenters and two bright tanks.
Sustainability is part of the brewery's approach, with solar panels providing renewable energy, spent hops reused by local gardeners and brewing waste supplied to a local pig farmer.
