Ramsgate Brewery is an independent Kent brewery established in 2002 and now based in Broadstairs. Its beers balance traditional Kentish brewing and local hop varieties with a changing selection of more experimental releases, with every beer in the range vegan-friendly.
Brewery story
Ramsgate Brewery was established in 2002, initially brewing at the back of a seafront pub in Ramsgate. As the business developed, it outgrew its original home and moved in 2006 to larger premises at Pyson's Road Industrial Estate in Broadstairs, providing greater brewing capacity and space for bottling.
Production is centred around a 25-hectolitre brewhouse, with the brewery balancing established brewing traditions with a willingness to experiment. Its long-running 'Regulars' form the dependable core range, while the changing 'Irregulars' provide space for different styles, ingredients and ideas.
Kentish ingredients remain particularly important to the Regulars, with local hop varieties including Northdown and East Kent Goldings featuring in beers influenced by the county's brewing heritage. The Irregulars look further afield, drawing on a broader range of hops, malts and beer styles to contrast with the brewery's traditional everyday ales.
That combination of consistency and experimentation continues to define Ramsgate Brewery today. From traditional bitters and Kentish ales to heavily hopped pale ales and more contemporary releases, the brewery approaches different styles with an emphasis on balance, while its entire beer range is vegan-friendly.
