Founded by Felix James and James Grundy, Small Beer Brew Co. has reimagined one of Britain's oldest brewing traditions for the modern drinker. Inspired by the historic 'small beers' once consumed throughout daily life in Britain, the brewery focuses exclusively on producing flavourful beers of 2.8% ABV and below, proving that lower alcohol does not have to mean lower quality.

Based in South Bermondsey, London, Small Beer Brew Co. became the world's first brewery dedicated solely to brewing small beer. To achieve this, the founders developed a bespoke brewing system designed specifically for lower-strength beer, allowing flavour to be created naturally during fermentation rather than through alcohol removal techniques. The result is a range of carefully crafted beers that prioritise balance, character, and drinkability while remaining true to traditional brewing principles.

Using only malted grains, hops, yeast, water, and time, every beer is brewed to strength and matured for a minimum of six weeks to develop clean, distinctive flavours. Rooted in brewing history yet driven by innovation, Small Beer Brew Co. has helped revive a forgotten category and establish itself as one of the pioneers of the modern low-alcohol beer movement.

Today, the brewery continues to produce its beers from South Bermondsey while operating a vibrant taproom and community space that reflects its commitment to craftsmanship, creativity, and thoughtful drinking.
