Treen's Brewery is an independent Cornish brewery founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Simon and Sarah Treen. Brewing from the heart of Cornwall, the brewery combines traditional craftsmanship with modern brewing expertise to create award-winning ales that celebrate local ingredients, Cornish heritage and exceptional drinkability.
Brewery story
Treen's Brewery was founded in 2016 by Simon and Sarah Treen, two proud Cornish natives who set out to create exceptional ales worthy of carrying their family name. Their ambition was simple: brew honest, high-quality Cornish beer with character, consistency and a strong sense of place.
Simon brought more than fifteen years of brewing experience and a degree in brewing to the venture, fulfilling a long-held ambition of owning his own brewery. Success came quickly when their very first beer, Cuckoo, won a silver medal at the Falmouth Beer Festival just weeks after launch.
Since then, Treen's has built an impressive reputation, collecting awards at local and regional festivals almost every year. Highlights include a bronze medal at the Great British Beer Festival for Smoulder in 2023, Essential reaching the Champion Beer of Britain finals in 2024, and being named Best Beer Brewery in the South West in 2026.
Despite the accolades, Simon and Sarah remain focused on what matters most: brewing delicious Cornish ales that people genuinely enjoy. Today, Treen's beers are supplied directly to pubs across Cornwall, continuing the brewery's mission to showcase independent Cornish brewing at its very best.
