Independent brewery established in 2006 at a historic former lead-smelting mill in Allendale, producing beers inspired by the landscape and heritage of the North Pennines.
Brewery story
Allendale Brewery was established in 2006 at Allen Mill, a historic former lead-smelting mill in the North Pennines.
The brewery began with a 10-barrel brewing system and later doubled its capacity, upgrading its premises and equipment to operate a 20-barrel brewhouse.
Its location and the heritage of the surrounding area are reflected across the brewery and many of its beers, giving Allendale a strong connection to its North Pennines home.
Alongside brewing, Allendale hosts seasonal taproom events at the brewery, bringing together its beers and live music during the warmer months.
