Colbier Brew Co

Colbier Brew Co was established in 2024 by Mike Corbett and Vik Williams in Bootle, with Jason Menzies joining the team in 2025. The brewery grew from a shared enthusiasm for beer and music, backed by more than a decade of collective experience gained through work in local craft beer bars and breweries.

The brewery describes its approach as acknowledging brewing traditions while being willing to break their rules. Balance, simplicity and quality underpin its beers, with traditional English and Continental influences sitting alongside more modern and hop-forward releases. Music is an important part of Colbier's identity, reflected in its language, branding and 'Proper Sound Beers' philosophy.

Production takes place on a 20-hectolitre three-vessel brewhouse comprising a hot liquor tank, mash tun and brew kettle, with an additional whirlpool used for hop-forward beers. A smaller pilot system gives the team space to experiment before recipes are developed or refined on the main brewhouse.

All Colbier beer is packaged onsite in cask, keg and small pack. The brewery uses its own canning equipment and operates two cold stores to keep packaged beer fresh before distribution. It is also investing in improvements intended to reduce its environmental impact, including systems that recapture wastewater for cleaning and reduce overall water consumption.
