Double-Barrelled is an independent Reading brewery founded by Mike and Luci in 2018. Starting out in their Caversham garage, the brewery has grown into a modern small-batch operation producing up to 1.3 million pints a year, with an onsite taproom, brewery tours and a diverse range of modern beer styles.
Brewery story
Double-Barrelled was founded by Mike and Luci, initially brewing from their garage in Caversham before establishing the brewery in Reading in 2018. What began on a small scale developed into a modern 15-barrel brewery, built around small-batch production and a strong focus on quality.
The brewery produces an extensive and regularly changing range, with pale ales, IPAs and Ding lager alongside seasonal fruited sours, stouts, collaborations and occasional cask beer. Barrel ageing was introduced in 2021, while most releases outside the small core range are produced as one-offs. Around 95% of its beers are suitable for vegans.
Today, Double-Barrelled can produce up to 1.3 million pints a year from its Reading brewery. Its large onsite taproom pours 12 craft beers alongside guest drinks and food from 7Bone Burger Co, while brewery tours and tastings give visitors an opportunity to explore the brewing process and sample the beers where they are made.

Brewery run club
Run Ding is Double-Barrelled Brewery’s friendly and free social run club, welcoming runners of all paces for an out-and-back run along the Thames. Runs start and finish at the brewery taproom, with the emphasis on running together, making sure no one is left behind and enjoying drinks and a chat afterwards.
Social out-and-back runs follow the Thames towards Caversham before returning to the Double-Barrelled taproom. All paces are welcome, with the group designed so that no runner is left behind.
