Brewery story

About Siren Craft Brew

Siren Craft Brew was founded in 2013 by Darron Anley, inspired by the modern, flavour-forward beers that were beginning to reshape British brewing. The brewery was created with a simple ambition: to introduce exciting, full-flavoured and forward-thinking beer to as many people as possible. From its home in Finchampstead, Berkshire, Siren has built its approach around sourcing high-quality ingredients and brewing the beers its team genuinely wants to make, rather than allowing cost or convention to dictate the result.

Experimentation has been central to Siren from the beginning. Its first ever brew was Maiden, a barley wine placed directly into barrels and left to mature for more than a year before its first release. That early commitment to barrel ageing developed into an extensive cellar programme, including the annual Maiden blends and the Odyssey series. Siren has also created collaborative projects such as the International Rainbow Project, launched in 2013 with breweries from around the world, and Project Barista, exploring the relationship between coffee and beer.

The Siren name takes inspiration from the Sirens of Greek mythology, whose layered songs were said to draw sailors towards them. The brewery uses the idea as a metaphor for beer itself, bringing together malt, hops, yeast and water to create complex combinations of flavour and aroma. Storytelling also became an important part of Siren's identity, with distinctive illustrated artwork accompanying its beers and the familiar Siren 'S' incorporating a subtle barb at its tip. Today, the brewery continues to produce everything from accessible pale ales and lagers to heavily hopped IPAs, rich stouts and experimental barrel-aged releases, guided by values it describes as adventurous, humble and lasting.
