Merakai Brewing Co

Merakai Brewing Co. was established in 2020 by Emma O'Neill-Parsons and Olly Parsons, combining Emma's focus on community with Olly's experience as a professional brewer. Olly previously brewed at Arundel Brewery and served as Head Brewer at Abyss Brewing, while Merakai gave the pair the opportunity to build a beer business around experimentation and inclusivity.

Merakai's earliest beers were produced with the help of other breweries, including its first release, which was brewed at Arundel. The business has since established its own small brewery inside The Tasting Room in Worthing, built around a 2.5-barrel, two-vessel brewhouse with open fermentation vessels and space for further brewing equipment within the bar itself.

Experimentation remains central to Merakai's approach, with the brewery producing a varied range rather than restricting itself to a single style. That interest in discovery is matched by the founders' belief that craft beer should be accessible to everyone, with community and creating a welcoming environment forming an important part of the brewery's identity.

The Tasting Room brings those ideas together in central Worthing, combining Merakai's brewery with its public drinking space. The venue is intended to provide a safe and inclusive place to discover beer, giving the brewery a direct connection with its customers while allowing small-batch production to take place within the bar itself.
