RedWillow is a modern independent brewery established by Toby and Caroline McKenzie in Macclesfield in 2010. Its brewing spans traditional British cask ale, hop-forward modern styles, long-lagered beers and mixed and wild fermentation, with its beers served nationwide and through its own bars in Macclesfield and Buxton.
Brewery story
RedWillow was established in Macclesfield in 2010 by homebrewer Toby McKenzie and his wife Caroline. A love of traditional British cask beer formed the foundation of the brewery, with its reputation growing through carefully produced cask ales before the range expanded into more hop-forward modern styles.
As the brewery grew, production moved in 2015 to a larger purpose-built unit on the same Macclesfield site. RedWillow has continued to broaden its approach to brewing, developing naturally carbonated lagers matured for at least six weeks alongside a mixed and wild fermentation programme using foeders and barrels.
Today, RedWillow's beers are distributed around the country while retaining a strong connection with its Cheshire home. The brewery operates its own bars in Macclesfield and Buxton, both pouring extensive selections across cask and keg, and also offers brewing experiences that give visitors a closer look at the production process.
