Sambrook's is an independent London brewery founded in 2008 by Duncan Sambrook and David Welsh. Originally established in Battersea, it moved to the historic Ram Quarter in Wandsworth in 2021, where it continues London's brewing heritage with a strong focus on traditional cask ale alongside a brewery taproom and tours.
Brewery story
Sambrook's Brewery was founded by Duncan Sambrook and David Welsh in 2008, following an idea sparked by a visit to the Great British Beer Festival two years earlier. Starting in Battersea, the brewery set out to revive local brewing in London, building its reputation around traditional British beer with cask ale at the heart of production.
In 2021, Sambrook's moved to the historic Ram Quarter in Wandsworth, the former home of Young's Brewery and a site with centuries of brewing heritage. The move brought Sambrook's together with the Ram Brewery operation, which had continued brewing on the site after Young's departure, and provided a new working brewery and taproom within the converted Victorian buildings.
Today, Sambrook's combines modern production with the brewing heritage of its Wandsworth home. Its onsite taproom serves beer brewed metres from the bar alongside food and events, while brewery tours explore the site and its history. The brewery also maintains a strong community focus and works to reduce waste through measures including reusing fermentation carbon dioxide and sending spent grain for cattle feed.
