Aither Brewery

Aither Brewery was founded in 2022 by Scott Lawrence and Ashleigh Hunt in Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. Taking its name from Greek mythology, where Aither refers to the pure upper air of the heavens, the brewery was established with a passion for traditional English ales and a determination to bring fresh ideas to familiar brewing styles. Scott brought considerable experience to the venture, having spent ten years working at Lincolnshire's Batemans Brewery before setting out on his own.

Based at Old Mill Lane Industrial Estate, Aither combines time-honoured brewing methods with a modern approach to ingredients and flavour. Its beers are produced in small batches using British-grown barley and carefully selected hops from around the world. From mashing and fermentation to the finished pint, the brewery emphasises attention to detail, consistency and the character of handcrafted beer.

While traditional English ales remain at the heart of Aither's range, the brewery embraces opportunities to experiment and develop new flavours. Its approach balances the familiarity of classic British brewing with the creativity of contemporary craft beer. Aither's beers are distributed throughout Mansfield and the wider Nottinghamshire area, supporting local pubs and giving drinkers access to independently brewed beer from their own community.

Aither has also developed a social side to its brewing operation, with a taproom where visitors can enjoy fresh beer, live entertainment and good company. A mobile bar service extends that experience to weddings, private functions and local events. For Scott and Ashleigh, the brewery represents more than producing beer: it is an opportunity to bring people together while building on the traditions of English brewing.
